Landscape Architect

Experience:

Jay Henson founded Henson Foley in May 2000. After 10 years experience at two large local firms, Henson found the need to establish a consulting firm specializing in personal client attention and include the elements of Land Planning, Landscape Architecture and Civil Engineering.

Upon establishing Henson Foley, Henson has consulted on numerous parks, trails, office, schools, retail, civic, industrial, commercial, single-family and multi-family residential projects. With the main focus on DESIGN, the project list spans large (500 acres) to smaller 1 acre size projects.

An accomplished Landscape Architect, Henson spent the first 5 years of his professional career at LandDesign in Charlotte. Specifically assigned to handle site design and the preparation of technical documents, Henson has numerous projects in the golf course, park, and multi-family areas. Immediately following those years was a brief stay at Site Solutions and to Little and Associates in Charlotte. Little and Associates was one of the top 50 Architectural firms in the nation with multi-office locations. At Little, Henson managed the Land Planning Studio and specialized in corporate recreation areas, office, schools, and college/university design.

Henson is a 1988 graduate of West Virginia University (BSLA) and is a registered Landscape Architect in South Carolina (#715), North Carolina (#700), and Virginia (#934). Hobbies are primarily associated with his children’s activities, which include an Assistant Scout Master, Basketball Coach, backpacking, canoeing, and golfing.
